Design Engineer

Great aerospace company in the Independence area is currently hiring for an experienced Design Engineer! This is a full-time, direct hire position that pays $70K to $85K based on experience with amazing growth potential!!
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provide the design and development efforts to create test equipment for the Aerospace Industry based on customer requirements and industry trends. Create product designs and work with cross functional teams to complete the new product development process and produce robust functional products. Participate in continuous product improvement, standardization and cost reduction activities.
Roles and
Responsibilities:
Support the hardware and software (VisExec) implemented on the Avtron ATE product line. Champion updates, new features, and cost reduction efforts. Ensure software is maintained, secured and archived. Keep track of test capability.
Use CMM, ATLAS, and test procedure documents to implement and debug Visual Basic (VB) testing software executed on the Avtron ATE product line.
When required, provide hardware design effort to produce new Avtron ATE product line adaptors for UUTs. Analyze and devise solutions that propose the best resolution.
Use sound engineering practices and industry standards.
Support legacy computer maintenance. Includes, but not limited, to work with computer hardware, IRQs, ISA, PCI, AGP, PCIe, computer assembly, software drivers and MS Windows (98/XP/7) troubleshooting.
As required, design, implement and debug software for Avtron equipment outside of the Avtron ATE product line.
Support, configure and troubleshoot hardware, including but not limited to, Relays, RLC circuits, DMMs, Oscilloscopes, and AC/DC power supplies.
Support, configure and troubleshoot communication systems such as RS232, RS485, CANbus, ARINC-429, ARINC-629, MIL-1553.
Interpret customer request for quote and provide technical description, input and guidance on cost estimates as required.
Support significant design decisions by calculations, simulation, and prototyping. Critical specifications must have documented analysis demonstrating design capability.
Lead effective technical design reviews and contribute to improving design knowledge.
Provide on time, complete and accurate design package to drafting that leads to error free implementation in operations.
Work with drafting to create detail design package consisting of schematics, bill of material and assembly drawings.
Work within the guidelines of the Avtron Aerospace design guidelines and Product Development Process
Ensure equipment acceptance test procedure is prepared and participate in the testing and troubleshooting phase as necessary
Coordinate as necessary with other disciplines within engineering, and other groups (manufacturing, sales, service, etc) to be sure all aspects of product proceed smoothly
Create (or assist in the creation of) technical documentation (such as User Manuals) that effectively convey the required information to the end user
Investigate and incorporate new tools in area of expertise that can advance engineering capability

Knowledge/
Experience:
Strong technical skills.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards
A minimum of five years of experience including some design and development of test equipment.
Experience designing and writing programs using a modern language such as MS Visual Basic, C# or C++.
Experience using and debugging software controlled hardware such as Data Acquisition, Digital I/O and Analog I/O.
Aerospace experience working with aircraft components, CMMs, TOs, Atlases, Test Procedures, etc. is a plus.
Experience with microcontroller hardware, LabView or Assembly programming and basic hydraulic knowledge is a plus.
Education:
BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
