Airgas is organized into four new Divisions, each with its own Business Support Center (BSC) which provides accounting and administrative services to the Division and its Region Companies.
As part of this alignment and BSC expansion, we have several outstanding opportunities available on our Collections Team.
The Role:
The Collection Specialist is responsible for the daily tasks related to collection efforts of a portfolio of customer accounts.
This role is accountable to perform business to business collections , research problems, work with internal and external customers to issue credits, correct invoices, pricing, etc.
, while providing outstanding customer service to all.
In addition, recognition of significant credit risks and escalation of these matters are critical.
QualificationsQualifications Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree or 2 years of college in accounting or business is preferred.
Previous business-to-business collection experience is required.
Demonstrated understanding of quality customer service and the relationship to collection efforts.
Experience with SAP and/or ERP systems a plus.
Basic Excel experience is preferred.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years previous collections experience.
National Accounts experience is essential for certain openings.
Must have strong computer skills with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must demonstrate outstanding customer service, ability to consistently handle multiple priorities and deliver results.
Demonstrated planning skills and outstanding personal relationship skills.
The successful candidate takes ownership and creates solutions and enjoys working hands-on in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
Must demonstrate a positive attitude; communicate directly and honestly as demonstrated by previous work experience and performance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Is a role model for expected performance on the job.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
